While I do ALL kinds of hair, I’m especially known for working with curly and ethnic hair. After attending beauty school at the Gary Manuel Aveda institute I studied and apprenticed under the owner, Emmett Henley before transitioning to an independent stylist.

  • Kate is the best for people with naturally curly hair! I wanted to cut off 5 inches of my hair. She was so warm and personable, and very knowledgeable about how to handle my wavy hair. It had so much volume when I washed it and styled it with her advice the next day.

FAQs

  • If you are more than 15mins late you may be asked to reschedule and your card will be charged 50% of the service cost.

  • If you do not know, please don't guess! Please either book a consulation or email me at kalonsalonbykate@gmail.com.

  • I know it can be hard to speak up but if you could express discontent/concern at the time of the appointment it would be much appreciated. We can then look at it together and come up with a plan for how to fix it. If you go home first there is no way for us to know what you may have done to it or what products you've used that may have changed things.

  • If you are booking for someone else please make them their own account. Client profiles are where we keep notes on color formulas, product preferences, allergies, timing etc

  • Yes, however a consultation is needed and the day-of styling will be done at Kalon Salon.

  • There is a call box at the front door. You will scroll to find "Kate Hunter" , you will then push ‘call’ and I will buzz you in. I’m located in studio #15.
